Aaron began playing volleyball his freshman year of high school at Mission Hills. He instantly fell in love and has not left the gym since. In high school, Aaron played middle hitter, and was awarded 1st Team All League his junior and senior year as well as 2nd Team All CIF his senior year. After high school, Aaron got to strengthen his back row game while he played at Palomar College under Coach Bjorn Dahl as a libero. During the time he competed at Palomar, he also played beach and qualified for the AVP. Aaron is currently attending college and is working towards a degree in communication and sociology.
Aaron began coaching directly after high school at his alma mater, Mission Hills for their JV team. He went on to coach club and has coached teams ranging from14’s to 18’s elite level for the past 9 years. He also took up a coaching position for the San Marcos College Club Women’s Team where he helped them make it to the finals. Aaron moved over to Pacific Ridge High School 6 years ago and is now leading the program as the new Varsity Head Coach. Aaron enjoys coaching because he loves competition and helping young athletes believe in themselves through sports.

Aaron’s passion for competing is evident whenever he steps into the gym. His energy is endless and his faith in his players is unmatched. His players feel their coach is their number one fan and he will go the extra mile to help them meet their goals.
Coach Cholo comes to Genuine all the way from San Juan, Puerto Rico and is our most decorated coach in the gym. Coach Cholo has had a lot of success as an international beach volleyball coach including: National Head Coach and General Manager of the Puerto Rico National Beach Volleyball team, Head Coach and General Manager of the 2004 Puerto Rico Olympic Beach Volleyball team, and Manager of the Federacion Puertorriqueña de Volleyball (Puerto Rico Volleyball Federation, FPV) Beach Volleyball Department.
Additionally he has head coach experience in 3 Central American and Caribbean Games, 4 Pan Am Games, 1 Olympic Games, 1 Youth Olympic Games, 7 World Championships, over 100 FIVB Opens and multiple NORCECA’S (North, Central and Caribbean) Championships. He was also a part of the 2005 Gold Medal victory in the World Championships in Berlin, Germany.
Coach Cholo has been competing in international beach competitions since 1997 totaling over 100 FIVB tournaments, including Satellite, Challenger, Open, Grand Slam, Under 21 World Championship and World Championship Tournaments.
Coach Cholo’s experience includes coordinating/coaching youth clinics and programs where he has been able to shape and inspire young athletes of various cultures and backgrounds.
He has a competitive yet fun loving personality. Coach Cholo is bilingual in both English and Spanish and loves to take on new challenges. He enjoys coaching for Genuine VBC because “we help our athletes become more than just great volleyball players - we help them become better people!”
Ashli Pardi is entering into her 6th year of coaching and 4th year with Genuine Volleyball Club. Ashli is a local graduate of Mission Vista High where she played volleyball for their Varsity team. She continued her volleyball career at Palomar College as a libero where she earned back to back team awards as Best Defensive Player. Ashli played volleyball for a total of 13 years and has gained an incredible eye for technique through the process. On the court, she is able to breakdown footwork, eyework, and armwork so that each player is making each move properly and efficiently. Ashli enjoys coaching younger athletes helping them build a strong and proper foundation for their volleyball careers. She is able to balance having fun and incorporating high level skills and endurance training within each of her practices. She holds her athletes to a high standard but gives them the knowledge on how to get there as well! Ashli has a great reputation at Genuine for having athletes who improve the most within a single season. Her first year at Genuine, Ashli took her 12s team on an almost undefeated season with only 2 losses overall!
When Ashli is not coaching at Genuine Volleyball Club, she is head coaching the middle school teams at Aviara Oaks Middle School. She enjoys giving back to the community and helping girls learn the sport of volleyball. Her first year with Aviara, Ashli helped her Varsity team win the Championships! Ashli’s says she coaches because she enjoys being a positive mentor for younger players, helping future leaders learn life lessons, and creating a positive environment where friendships and memories are made. Ashli believes in maximizing potential and that anything is possible!
Colleen is entering into her 4th year of coaching and her 3rd year here at Genuine. She is a San Diego local and played all 4 years in high school at Rancho Buena Vista as an outside hitter. She followed up playing for Palomar College's indoor team as well as their beach team for 2 years. During her time at Palomar, Colleen earned second team all conference for indoor, and first team all conference both years for beach! She is currently attending the University of St. Katherine where she plays as an outside hitter/libero, and is studying to get her Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology. Prior to coming to Genuine, Colleen coached a 16’s team at Showcase VBC. Over the past 4 years Colleen has coached players of all ages and levels from National 16’s to our youngest beginners. Colleen was also the head coach for Valley Middle School where she helped young players learn the sport she loves!
Colleen uses her 11 years of playing experience to help push her athletes to the next level. As a player coach, Colleen has the ability to understand how much time a skill takes and the best way to learn a certain technique. She is a fan favorite and parents and players love and appreciate her commitment and leadership skills. She is a great communicator and highly organized. Colleen has a passion for coaching and is always looking for new ways to challenge her athletes and get them to be the best they can be!

Kyle Bass grew up playing elite club volleyball competing alongside and against some of the strongest players in the Country. During his high school career at Cathedral Catholic, he helped lead his team to 3 CIF championships and 2 league championships! He continued his collegiate career at Palomar where he earned 2 First-Team All League selections. While balancing work and school, Kyle found that he had a niche and passion for coaching. Kyle enjoys coaching athletes of all ages and levels and can meet any athlete where they are. Kyle’s coaching experience ranges from coaching beginners the fundamentals of the game, volunteering at his former Parochial Middle School, to coaching the more competitive athletes at Cathedral Catholic and Club.
Kyle finds fulfillment in betterment of his players not only on the court but off the court as well. He provides a highly competitive energy as well as fun and positive learning environment. He loves the challenge of how to connect with each of his athletes and get every player on his team to reach their maximum potential as a player, teammate, and person. Kyle enjoys working at Genuine Coaches and players love how personable Kyle is and how much he cares about each person he works with. Kyle is a phenomenal athlete who has incredible ball control and can jump out of the gym!
Marc Lomeli is entering his 14th year of coaching and his 8th year as President of Whole Sports; Genuine’s parent non-profit company. Marc grew up locally and played volleyball for San Marcos High. He then went to college and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science at CSUSM and a Master's Degree from SDSU in Counseling.
Since the age of 20, Marc has had the incredible experience of playing professionally around the world for both Beach and Indoor Volleyball. While travelling, Marc was able to compete against, learn from, and collaborate with some of the most elite coaches and players in the world. He currently holds the FIVB Global Beach Volleyball Coaching Certification, which only a couple of Americans in the U.S. possess. In addition, he has the distinguished USA BCAP Certification and has had access to trainers and coaches from all over the world. His experience and global training has allowed him to be a technical innovator for Beach and Indoor Volleyball Programs.
As a coach, Marc focuses on teaching athletes the proper biomechanics, strategies, and systems of the game. He cares deeply about his athletes and wants them to become independent thinkers and strategists on the court. He is enthusiastic about volleyball and strives to develop the most fit, technically sound, and intelligent players he can. He believes in training the “whole athlete” and helps his players grow not only as volleyball players on the court, but as successful young ladies and gentleman off the court. When not in the gym, Marc is busy chasing his 4 year old twin boys and spending time with his beautiful wife.
Melanie was born and raised in Odessa, Texas where she began playing volleyball in the 7th grade. She attended Permian High School and lettered in volleyball, basketball, and track all three years, and was offered scholarships in all three sports! Melanie went on to play basketball in college for one year and then transferred over to volleyball for her last 3 years of college. During her time at Our Lady of the Lake the Saints were Finalists of the Association of Independent Institutions Conference, and in 2009 they tied for third in the Red River Conference. In 2012, Melanie made the transition from a MB to OH which took her volleyball career to the next level and helped her pursue her childhood dream. She was given the opportunity to play professionally in Europe where she finished the 2013 season with Switzerland. Soon after, Melanie decided to transition over to beach volleyball. In 2015, Melanie joined the U.S. Virgin Islands Nation beach volleyball team and is currently playing on tour. Recent achievements include advancing to the third round of the Olympic trials, top 8 finish in the Norceca Pro International Tour, and currently qualified for the CAC and Pan American games. Melanie graduated college with a B.S. in Biology and B.A. in Chemistry. After college, Melanie worked full time as a Biomedical Research Technician and then as a Laboratory Research Assistant. Melanie is currently an Entrepreneur at USANA Health Sciences Inc.
Melanie has coached volleyball for 13 years. Her coaching experience includes camps across the Country, clinics, privates, and club. She has coached players of all ages, and enjoys the challenge of connecting and training players from all walks of life. Melanie also coaches at SD Beach and is entering her second season with Sante Fe Christian middle school. Melanie loves working at Genuine where the coaches take pride in teaching players the sport of volleyball and sharing their passion for the game.

Tyler is entering into his 4th year of coaching volleyball and enjoys working with players both indoors and on the beach! Tyler has been playing indoor volleyball for seven years and recently made the transition over to beach just a few years ago. After high school Tyler played for Palomar College for 2 years before transferring to CSUSM where he is currently working on a Communications Major. After making the move to the beach, Tyler continued to find great success and made it onto the USA Under 21 Beach Volleyball Team!
Tyler enjoys working with young athletes where he can help them balance the art of learning new things and pushing themselves while still having fun and enjoying the process! He likes to make people laugh and creates a positive learning environment for all of his players. He is super competitive but also knows how to balance his practices with fun drills and competitions. He loves working at Genuine because “we take pride in training our athletes, care about them beyond volleyball, and all the coaches here love what they do!”
Trevor is entering his 2nd year coaching indoor with Genuine, and his 4th year coaching for Oceanside Beach (sister club to Genuine). Trevor is a local and played volleyball at Poway High School. During his time at Poway he was a 3 year varsity player, who along with his team, won the 1999, 2000, & 2001 Palomar League Championships and the 1999 CIF D1 Boys Volleyball Team Championships! In addition, in 2001 he was voted Team Captain, Team MVP, All CIF Selection, All County Academic Team, and Palomar League Player of the Year! After high school, Trevor 2 years at Palomar College and was the 2003 Team Captain, Team MVP, and was awarded 1st Team All Conference. He continued his college career at Cal State San Marcos with their Men’s Club team and was awarded the 2004 San Diego League 3rd Place Team. Outside of the gym, Trevor also played beach volleyball, and was was the 18-Under Men's AAU Beach Volleyball National Champion and the 21-Under Men's USA Beach Volleyball National Champion! In 2004, Trevor had the honor of representing the USA Beach Volleyball Team in the Summer World University Games.
Trevor earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Cal State San Marcos and has a Master's Degree in Business Management from Point Loma Nazarene University. Trevor has enjoyed getting back in the sand and on the court where he gets to help share his passion for volleyball with others. As a former top athlete, Trevor emphasizes the importance of passing, defense, and volleyball IQ to his athletes. Most importantly, though, is the ability to apply all the skills, tools, and life lessons his players have learned playing volleyball to the real world so they can be more successful in life!
Rylee Zimmerman is entering into her 5th year of coaching and 7th season with Genuine Volleyball Club. Rylee joined Genuine her junior year of high school and instantly fell in love with the family atmosphere and the high quality coaching she received. She was a team captain and court leader both seasons at Genuine, where coaches took notice of her desire to work hard and lead by example. Rylee continued to play in college at Palomar as an Outside Hitter where she was awarded 2nd Team All League in both the 2013 and 2014 seasons. She has recently jumped back into her playing career and is now a starting outside hitter for St. Katherine’s College!
Rylee is an incredible coach who has the ability to train players of all ages and levels. As a player coach, she can push our elite college-bound athletes to the next level, but also has the patience and experience to breakdown the sport and train even our youngest athletes. To her, the best thing about coaching is the wonderful and talented group of kids she gets to work with. She thrives in an environment in which she gets to teach not only the physical part of volleyball but the mental and emotional parts as well. Rylee’s goals are to help better prepare kids for higher-level volleyball and keep the love for the game alive. She is a great mentor who truly cares about her athletes beyond the gym walls and wants them to succeed in all aspects of their lives. Rylee loves working at Genuine where she is a “part of a team & family where everyone works together and shares a passion for coaching volleyball and impacting young lives!” When not in the gym coaching or playing, Rylee is studying away in college, spending time with her fiancé and new puppy, or hanging out with her awesome family!
